Twice an academic year (end of the Fall and Spring Semesters) the LRC will conduct a food/item drive in which patrons can use donations to waive existing fines and fees on their library accounts. Donations will not apply to replacement costs as replacement costs are final once they are processed. During the announced times, the program will last a few weeks until the semester concludes. A list of items and exact dates will be advertised for each semester. All fines are rounded and one donated item equals $1 in fines waived.
Each week during the program Safe Harbor will collect the donated items to coordinate with the needs of the local community.
